Jerusalem’s Supreme Islamic Council on Tuesday condemned the unjust Israeli measures waged against Jerusalemites including arrests prosecutions deportations and other practices rejected locally and internationally.
The Council said in a statement that Israel seeks to alter the status quo at al-Aqsa Mosque and grant Israelis sovereignty over the shrine thus declaring a religious war against the Palestinians and Muslims at large.
It stressed that labeling al-Murabiteen the worshipers who maintain presence at al-Aqsa Mosque as “terrorists” is an attack on religious freedom that contradicts the most basic human rights guaranteed by international law.
The Supreme Council called on Palestinians to intensify their presence at the holy site affirming that Jewish settlers’ repeated incursions into al-Aqsa will never grant them any right in the Mosque.
