A senior delegation from the Islamic Jihad led by the movement’s secretary general Ziyad al-Nakhalah arrived on Monday in Cairo.
The Islamic Jihad said in an official statement that the visit came upon Egypt’s invitation.
According to the statement al-Nakhalah as well as members of the Islamic Jihad’s political bureau left the Gaza Strip on Monday to attend several “important” meetings in Cairo.
No further information was given about the issues to be discussed in the scheduled meetings.
