The Higher Planning Committee of the Israeli Civil Administration on Thursday approved the building of 1400 new settlement units between the illegal settlement of Tzur and Ramat Rachel kibbutz in East Jerusalem.
According to the Israeli television channel Resht Kan the plan to build 1400 new settlement units was approved after its discussion was delayed due to US President Joe Biden’s visit in the middle of July.
The approval of building another 500 settlement units in Givat Shaked near the Palestinian neighborhood of Beit Safafa was delayed while another plan to build 700 settlement units in Jerusalem was proposed as part of the so-called Greater Jerusalem plan.
