Clashes flared up on Thursday morning in the southern occupied West Bank province of al-Khalil after Israeli army patrols came down heavily on Palestinian schoolchildren.
Heavily-armed Israeli soldiers showed up south of al-Khalil and targeted schoolchildren with randomly-unleashed spates of teargas and stun grenades.
Palestinian schoolchildren responded to the attack by hurling stones at occupation troops deployed at the Abu al-Rish military checkpoint.
