Palestinian Minister of Waqf and Religious Affairs Yousef Edeis on Sunday said that the Israeli occupation authorities banned adhan (Muslim call for prayer) at the Ibrahimi Mosque 47 times in November.
Edeis said in a press statement that the Israeli violations of Muslims’ right to worship including adhan bans and repeated closures of the Ibrahimi Mosque in favor of settler break-ins are becoming more dangerous.
The minister called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and protect the Islamic holy sites in the Palestinian territories in general and the Ibrahimi Mosque in particular against an Israeli systematic policy to obliterate their Islamic character.
