The Israeli army began construction of a new separation wall along the northern areas of the West Bank.
A Hebrew website reported that the new security barrier is about 45 kilometers long 9 meters high and will include a huge concrete wall watchtowers and electronic monitoring devices.
The site said construction work of the wall will continue for about a year and will contribute in limiting infiltration into the Green Line.
At an estimated cost of NIS 360 million the Israeli government endorsed Army Minister Benny Gantz’s plan to close the openings in the wall and build a new section.
