Israel declares high state of alert in J’lem on festive occasion

Monday 6-April-2009

NABLUS (PIC)– The Israeli security apparatuses declared high state of alert and made large-scale military preparations in occupied Jerusalem for fear of Palestinian attacks on the occasion of the Jewish Passover feast that is due on Monday.

Israeli security sources said that the Israeli police would deploy a large number of troops in crowded places on this Jewish occasion and would intensify their arrest campaigns against Palestinians in the 1948 occupied lands.

The sources also warned Israeli settlers not to enter the PA-controlled lands in the West Bank during this occasion lest they could be kidnapped by the Palestinian resistance.

In another context Dr. Abdelsattar Qassem a professor of political sciences in the national Najah university opined that the Palestinian resistance in the West Bank could be more likely to carry out quantum operations against the Israeli occupation.

In a press statement to the PIC Dr. Qassem said that the Palestinian resistance’s resumption of its activities in the West Bank is a political decision adding that despite the arrest campaigns carried out by the Fatah-affiliated security apparatuses and IOF troops against the resistance fighters there are “sleeper resistance groups” able to carry out special operations in ways different from pervious ones.

The professor stressed that the Palestinian resistance should not care about the changing Israeli governments but it has to get itself connected only to the idea of the full liberation of Palestine.
