Israeli police cracked down on Wednesday on Palestinian teachers as they commemorated the death of an instructor in occupied Jerusalem.
A PIC reporter said Israeli intelligence officers cordoned off the area where the event was planned to be held and forced invitees out of the commemoration hall.
A number of attendants also received interrogation writs among them the event’s director Talel Abu Afifa.
The teachers gathered as they planned to commemorate Husni al-Ashhab on the 20th anniversary for his death in recognition of his efforts regarding educational services and programs in occupied Jerusalem.
The Israeli police claimed the ban order was signed by the Internal Security minister.
Israel regularly bars Palestinians from holding events in their occupied city under different pretexts.
