Israel imposes closure on Jerusalem for settler march

Sunday 2-June-2019

The Israeli police forces on Sunday evening closed all entrances to the Old City of Jerusalem and other neighboring areas to clear way for settler break-ins.

Local sources said that the Israeli police forces deployed in large numbers on the streets and forced Palestinian merchants in the Old City to close their shops.

They reported seeing the Israeli police assaulting and arresting a young woman in Bab al-Amud area near al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to the Hebrew website Walla the Israeli settlers taking part in the march organized by the Temple Mount groups who call for destroying al-Aqsa Mosque are set to roam the streets of the Old City toward al-Buraq Wall.

Earlier on Sunday 1179 Israeli settlers broke into al-Aqsa Mosque while the Israeli police forces who accompanied the settlers attacked the Palestinian worshipers who were inside the mosque and arrested six of them.
