Israeli police forces on Wednesday stormed Khan al-Ahmar community east of occupied Jerusalem and closed its entrances with cement cubes.
Head of the Wall and Settlements Resistance Committee Walid Assaf said that Israeli forces prevented anyone from reaching the community including consuls accredited to the Palestinian Authority.
A number of consuls and activists have managed to reach the clock vigil at the community to prevent its demolition and eviction of its 190 Bedouin residents.
Assaf reported that Israeli forces forced the activists to remain inside Khan al-Ahmar school which is also under threat of demolition and prevented them from leaving the community and reaching the main Jerusalem-Jericho road.
Palestinian Medical Relief Society’s mobile clinic was also prevented from entering into the threatened community.
Israel has been threatening to demolish Khan al-Ahmar community and remove its residents to build a new settlement in its location a step that has generated strong international protest.
