Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Wednesday morning imposed a military closure on Sebastia village northwest of Nablus for Jewish holidays.
Sebastia’s mayor Mohammed Azem said that the IOF in the early morning hours threw a cordon around the archaeological area located in the western side of the village and installed checkpoints in its vicinity.
Azem said that the IOF informed Sebastia’s municipality that the closure will last for 48 hours.
Hundreds of Israeli settlers are expected to visit the area during this period to celebrate Jewish holidays.
