Israel imposed closures on several neighborhoods and streets of Occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday to mark the Yom Kippur (day of atonement) the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.
Local sources reported that the closure resulted in restrictions on the movement of the Jerusalemites in several areas of the city.
“Israeli police set up cement blocks and placed red ribbons in the vicinity of Jabal al Mukabbir town in addition to blocking one of the entrances of Wadi al-Rababah neighborhood in the Silwan town south of Al-Aqsa Mosque” the sources added.
Closures were imposed on Sheikh Jarrah and Al-Misrarah neighborhoods in addition to Antara Bin Shaddad Jisr and Nablus streets which resulted in massive traffic congestion at Qalandia checkpoint and Ras Khamis gate northeast of Jerusalem.
