OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– The Aqsa Foundation which caters for Islamic sites in Palestine said that Israel is implementing a plan to Judaize the occupied city of Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement the Foundation said in a statement that the walls of the old city of Jerusalem were being Judaized on the pretext of renovation work.
Furthermore the Jerusalem municipality is also implementing a plan to put its hands on the areas around the mosque and building public parks according to the statement.
The foundation charged that all these activities which are being carried out by various Israeli government departments have only one aim and that is to strip the holy city from its Arab and Islamic identity and give it a Jewish one instead citing the fact that stones used to replace old stones in the wall are stamped with the logo of the Israeli Antiquities Authority.
After a delegation from the Foundation toured the city of Jerusalem the foundation said that that the occupation authority in cooperation with the Antiquities Authority Jerusalem Municipality Ministry of Tourism and the so called Jerusalem Development have started a few days ago work on the north western corner of the wall of the old city the work included replacing some stones.
The Occupation Authority claimed that what was being carried out was no more than renovation work while an Israeli television report said that the stones that will replace the old stones in the wall will bear the logo of the Antiquities Authority.
The Foundation also said it has learnt that an Israeli company scanned the walls of the old city using three dimensional laser technology “which indicates that there is a long term dangerous plan which the Occupation Authority is preparing for.”
The Foundation added that Israeli excavations around the Aqsa Mosque have been ongoing for forty years since 1967 and no one knows the effects of these excavations on the walls of the old city and the Foundation called for a team of experts from the Arab and Islamic world to be formed to examine the walls.
