Israel orders halt to construction of 4 Palestinian homes

Wednesday 31-October-2018

The Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday afternoon stormed al-Zawiya town west of Salfit and distributed stop-work orders against four Palestinian buildings under construction.

Local sources told the PIC reporter that several military patrols raided the western neighborhood of al-Zawiya and handed four Palestinian citizens stop-construction orders for allegedly building in Area C.

The buildings are owned by the Palestinian citizens Eyad Shuqeir Basheer Noureldin Izzallah Husein and Abdullah Abdulhalim.

The sources said that these orders fall in line with an Israeli plan to limit the Palestinian construction activity in Salfit noting that Salfi is the most affected area in the West Bank by Israel’s settlement expansion projects.

Al-Zawiya is located on the western side of Salfit close to the 1948 occupied territories. The town has a population of 6000 and it covers an area of 12000 dunums. The Palestinians have built on only 693 dunums of the land.
