Aref Daraghmeh a human rights activist warned on Monday of the Israeli plan to expropriate a thousand dunums of citizens’ land in the Jordan Valley and preventing their owners from accessing it.
Daraghmeh pointed out in a press statement that Israeli bulldozing and road construction activities are ongoing in an area near al-Hadidiya east of Tubas which points to preparatory work for the establishment of a settlement outpost.
He explained that there are 36 settlement outposts distributed on Palestinians’ lands in that area and more than 20 military training camps.
Daraghmeh said that 82% of the Jordan Valley is under the control of the Israeli occupation authority and its settlers.
