OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)–The Israeli Supreme Court on Thursday rejected an appeal filed by the family of pro-Palestinian activist Rachel Corrie to receive compensation form the Israeli government.
Rachel Corrie is a young woman from the US killed by an Israeli bulldozer in 2003 while trying to prevent the demolition of a Palestinian home in the Gaza Strip.
Rachel’s family appealed against a previous court verdict that had ruled that the Israeli army could not be held responsible for incidents in a war zone and asked for compensation for her death.
The high court rejected the appeal and decided to uphold a lower court decision that considered what had happened a war incident and blamed Corrie for her own death.
