The Israeli occupation authorities on Friday evening released the bodies of two Palestinians killed by the Israeli forces separately in al-Khalil and Jerusalem after they had been withheld for different periods.
The Israeli authorities handed over the body of Majd Muteir 26 at Ofer military checkpoint in Ramallah.
Muteir was shot by the Israeli police and left to bleed for over 40 minutes in the Old City of Jerusalem without receiving any kind of help on 13 December 2018.
Meanwhile the Israeli authorities released the body of Muammar al-Atrash 42 following 103 days of detention.
According to Palestinian sources al-Atrash’s body was immediately taken to al-Ahli Hospital in al-Khalil.
The Israeli occupation forces shot al-Atrash near the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil on 22 October 2018 and claimed that he attempted to stab Israeli soldiers.
Israel is currently holding the bodies of 36 Palestinian martyrs and refuses to hand them over to their families.
