OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– The Israeli government has been deeply shocked at the injury of tens of Israeli soldiers and officers as a result of firing two Palestinian homemade rockets on the Zakkim military base in Ashkelon at an early hour Tuesday considering what happened a very dangerous indicator.

Accordingly Ehud Olmert the Israeli premier on Tuesday called for an urgent meeting with the heads of security apparatuses and members of the mini-cabinet for political and security affairs to examine possible ways to respond to the bombing of the military base.

The Hebrew radio reported that a senior Israeli minister called for an immediate retaliation to the Palestinian missile attack and for carrying out a large-scale operation to eradicate the infrastructure of Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip urging the government to restore the control over the Philadelphia axis (Salahuddin) at the pretext of preventing the flow of weapons from the Egyptian Sinai peninsula to the Strip.

Whereas another Israeli minister urged to stop the delivery of fuel to the Gaza Strip Israeli minister Meir Shitreet opined that Israel cannot simply fortify buildings of Israeli communities surrounding the Gaza Strip but it must carry out a large-scale incursion in Gaza.
