Israel starts diplomatic and media campaign to justify planned massacres in Gaza

Friday 15-February-2008

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– The Israeli occupation government started a world-wide diplomatic and media campaign to instigate the world’s leaders against the Gaza Strip and to justify an anticipated full-scale IOF offensive against the Strip Palestinian sources warned.

According to the sources Israeli premier Ehud Olmert and Israeli war and foreign affairs ministers Ehud Barak and Tzipi Livni respectively in addition to Israel’s diplomatic missions across the world were participating in the campaign.

According to the Hebrew Maariv daily newspaper the Israeli foreign affairs ministry and Israel’s ambassadors across the world were leading a full-scale diplomatic and media campaign to convince the world’s leaders of the “justice” of any Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip.

According to the paper the campaign includes video films portraying the “suffering” of the Israeli settlers in Sderot colony which is adjacent to the tiny Strip in addition to giving details on the “military capabilities” of the Palestinian resistance factions.

Israel’s envoy to the United Nation Dani Gelierman also filed a “complaint” with the office of the UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon as well as the president of the UNSC against the Palestinian rockets.

Since the Annapolis peace conference last November the Israeli occupation army killed hundreds of Palestinian citizens including 80 patients who died after Israel denied them exit permits to be treated outside the besieged Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian home-made missiles that were fired on the IOF locations and Israeli settlements bordering the Gaza Strip in retaliation to the IOF atrocities had only wounded a few Israelis and inflicted little material damage on a number of buildings in Sderot colony which couldn’t be compared to the huge devastation that was inflicted by the Israeli occupation army on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank local observers asserted.

As part of the Israeli campaign against Gaza the Israeli occupation government invited around 70 foreign ambassadors to the Erez crossing point and briefed them on the “Palestinian attacks” against Sderot settlement; yet those ambassadors failed to pay a visit to Gaza Strip and the West Bank to see for themselves the IOF crimes against the Palestinian people there.

In this regard the Palestinian resistance factions stressed the necessity for unleashing a counter media and diplomatic campaign to confront the Israeli campaign and to unveil Israel’s bad intentions and lies and to brief the world on the daily IOF crimes against the Palestinian people in addition to the adverse repercussions of the two-year-old Israeli economic blockade on the Gaza Strip that jeopardized the lives of 1.5 million Palestinian individuals living there.

The factions also called on the Arab league and the international community to take all the necessary steps to protect the Palestinian people of any possible Israeli genocidal war against the Strip.
