The Israeli occupation army the Israeli municipality in Occupied Jerusalem and settler groups announced on Monday that they decided to form armed militia groups of Jewish settlers and delegate them to carry out security tasks in the holy city and its nearby areas.
According to Maariv newspaper one of these militias’ tasks is to intervene when attacks — referred to by the Palestinians as resistance operations — happen in the holy city and its surrounding settlements and areas.
This plan which will be executed soon on a trial basis provides for the formation of groups of skilled settlers to intervene during security incidents until military or police personnel arrive on scenes Maariv said.
According to this plan the settlers who volunteer within these militias will receive prompt approvals to acquire weapons and receive training programs.
