NEGEV (PIC)– Israeli bulldozers escorted by a large number of Israeli policemen and troops stormed Wednesday morning the Palestinian village of Araqib in the Negev region and re-demolished the homes of the villagers.
The village’s homes were rebuilt in cooperation with the high follow-up committee for the Arabs of the 1948 occupied lands after they were razed last week.
Palestinian sources said that the policemen and troops physically assaulted the villagers and everyone found at the scene and detained a number of them.
Arab Knesset member Talib Al-Sanea tried to defend the homes and entered one of them in an attempt to obstruct its demolition but he was forced out. Sanea was reportedly transferred to hospital after he fainted.
Israel demolished last week more than 45 homes in Araqib displacing hundreds of its residents most of them are children and women and uprooted all trees in order to wipe out any sign of the village.
