Israeli warplanes bombed after midnight on Sunday different sites in the besieged Gaza Strip with no reported casualties.
According to local sources two successive airstrikes targeted a resistance post in the south of Gaza City.
Warplanes also bombed a resistance site and a swath of cultivated land in the east of Beit Hanoun north of Gaza.
Eyewitnesses said that resistance fighters responded by firing anti-aircraft guns at the warplanes.
A spokesperson for the Israeli occupation army said that the airstrikes were in response to two fires in southern Israel sparked by balloon-borne incendiary devices from Gaza and renewed border protests.
