The Israeli occupation forces on Saturday closed off the northern entrance to al-Bireh in the central occupied West Bank blocking Palestinians’ access out of and into the area.
According to local sources the Israeli army sealed off Beit El checkpoint set up at the northern entrance to al-Bireh without prior notifications.
The measure comes in response to simmering clashes with anti-occupation youth across the West Bank which were prompted by the U.S. President Donald Trump’s Dec. 6 recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
