Israeli army kidnaps fishermen infiltrates border area in Gaza

Monday 14-February-2022

The Israeli occupation army on Monday morning kidnaped Palestinian fishermen off the northern coast of Gaza and carried out a limited incursion into a border area in the east of the besieged Strip.

Chief of the Gaza fishermen syndicate Nizar Ayyash said that Israeli naval forces attacked a big fishing boat with no reason and rounded up about five fishermen aboard it in the northern waters of Gaza.

Ayyash added that the Israeli navy took the fishing boat and fishermen to Ashdod port.

He affirmed that the fishermen were working normally within three nautical miles off the shore of northern Gaza.

In the east of Gaza two Israeli armored bulldozers escorted by four tanks infiltrated into a border area in Khan Yunis and embarked on leveling swaths of land.

Local sources said that Israeli forces fired smoke grenades and live ammunition during their incursion in Khan Yunis.

The eastern border areas of Gaza are repeatedly exposed to Israeli military incursions and gunfire attacks which cause considerable damage to crops and prevent farmers from working their lands.
