Israeli army launches air raids on Gaza opens fire at youths

Thursday 21-February-2019

An Israeli drone on Wednesday evening waged two air raids on areas in central Gaza while six Palestinian young men suffered bullet injuries during night skirmishes with Israeli soldiers east of Khan Younis.

A reporter for the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) said that a drone fired one missile at an agricultural area and then another one at an area east of al-Awdeh camp courtyard east of al-Bureij refugee camp.

The Israeli occupation army claimed its aerial attacks were in response to the launch of balloons carrying incendiary materials towards Israeli border areas.

Meanwhile dozens of Gazan youths resumed their night protest activities east of al-Awdeh camp in Khuza’a.

A PIC reporter said that the IOF opened live ammunition and tear gas grenades at the young protesters and wounded six of them.

Gaza nighttime protests which are called night confusion activities were suspended last November after Egyptian Qatari and UN mediators managed to broker understandings over Gaza.

According to those understandings Israel pledged to mitigate its blockade on Gaza especially with regard to the expansion of the fishing zone and the entry of Qatari financial aid to Gaza.
