Israeli army on alert on the Gaza border for 4th day in row

The Israeli occupation army on Thursday remained on high alert for a potential escalation along the border with the Gaza Strip for the fourth day in a row.

According to Safa news agency the state of alertness was extended for another day due to a new security assessment in addition to blocking the roads near the Palestinian enclave.

“The Israeli army will not be able to stay on alert for a long time and is planning to impose economic sanctions such as banning fishing in the Gaza Sea and closing the crossings” the Hebrew channel 14 reported.

Earlier on Wednesday Israeli prime minister Yair Lapid held a security consultation with Israeli officials to discuss the security situation in the south Lapid’s office said adding that they agreed to hold another consultation later today.
