The Israeli occupation army demolished on Sunday morning agricultural structures belonging to Palestinian farmers in southern al-Khalil.
According to local sources a crew from the Israeli army’s civil administration escorted by soldiers demolished one room and four tents used for agricultural purposes in Khilal al-Adra area near the land that had been seized recently by Jewish settlers in Ein al-Baida area in the east of Yatta.
The demolished structures belonged to farmers from the family of Shawaheen.
A few days ago the Israeli occupation army notified a number of Palestinian citizens in Tabban hamlet in Masafer Yatta south of al-Khalil of its intent to demolish their homes structures and wells.
Citizens from Zif village in southern al-Khalil also received recently Israeli stop-work orders against two wells and one agricultural structure.
The Israeli army has recently intensified demolitions and evictions of Palestinians in Masafer Yatta (a cluster of Bedouin communities) in the southern West Bank following a court ruling in early May that approved the displacement of thousands of local residents to officially make way for a military training zone.
Dozens of Palestinian families have become homeless after several homes and structures in Masafer Yatta were destroyed in recent days.
Since early 1981 when Israel declared the area a military firing and training zone residents of the Masafer Yatta region have been facing every once in a while demolitions property seizures expulsion threats harassment movement restrictions and disruptions of food and water supplies.
