Monday 6-February-2017

The Israeli occupation army on Monday evening targeted different areas of the Gaza Strip with renewed air raids and artillery shelling following a wave of similar attacks in the morning and afternoon.

According to a security official in Gaza 19 air strikes were launched in the evening on Gaza most of them to the east of al-Shuja’iyya neighborhood.

Israeli artillery units also intensively bombed east of al-Shuja’iyya neighborhood and al-Rayes Mount.

Air-to-ground missiles also hit a resistance post east of al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City.

In the central district of Gaza a Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reporter said two artillery shells slammed into an empty plot of land east of al-Bureij refugee camp.

Earlier three air strikes hit different sites in Gaza and three resistance posts east of the central district were bombarded with volleys of artillery shells. One elderly man suffered injuries in one of those attacks.

Several buildings also sustained considerable damage in aerial attacks on areas northeast and northwest of Gaza.

In the morning the Israeli army pounded different resistance sites in Gaza in retaliation to an alleged rocket attack on the Ashkelon beach area south of Israel.
