The Israeli occupation army on Thursday notified the local authority in the northern Jordan Valley of its intent to appropriate a Palestinian-owned swath of land Ayn Ghazal hamlet.
Local official Aref Daraghmeh said that the Israeli army would seize 1600 square meters of land in Ayn Ghazal to expand an artesian well which feeds settlements and military bases.
Daraghmeh affirmed that the seized land belongs to Palestinian citizens who own vast tracts of land in the area.
Ayn Ghazal hamlet is about 20 kilometers from Tubas province and encircled by illegal Jewish settlements and military outposts.
The area of the hamlet used to be 200 dunums of land before an extremist Jewish settler took over 100 dunums with the help of the Israeli army.
