Wednesday 25-August-2021

The Israeli occupation army on Tuesday announced it had bolstered its Gaza front with additional troops following an assessment of the security situation on the border with the besieged coastal enclave.

According to the Hebrew media two special forces units a tank company and a number of snipers were deployed to the Gaza border area.

The army claimed it was girding itself for multiple scenarios including violent protests along the perimeter fence the launching of incendiary balloons and rocket fire at southern Israeli communities.

Israel’s military preparations on the border have followed an uptick in its aggressive practices against Gaza.

Last Saturday Israeli forces intensively fired live ammunition at young men and wounded many of them as they were rallying on the border to protest Israel’s inhumane blockade on Gaza.

One Israeli border soldier was critically injured in his head during the events when a Gazan young man with a pistol responded to Israeli live fire by shooting through a hole in the security concrete wall. Israeli snipers used such holes during the clashes to open fire at Palestinian protesters.

At least 41 young protesters including kids were injured by Israeli live ammunition during the events two of them critically according to the health ministry in Gaza.

In response to the injury of this one soldier the Israeli occupation army decided to escalate its aggression with overnight airstrikes on Gaza.
