The Israeli occupation army on Monday notified residents of Khan al-Ahmar village east Jerusalem of its intent to bulldoze and level dirt roads leading to their homes to make it easy for Israeli vehicles and bulldozers to come and carry out demolitions.
According to a local official the residents were given one week to file an objection against the military order to level the roads.
Abdullah Abu Rahma from the popular committee against the wall and settlement said that this Israeli step was aimed at intimidating Khan al-Ahmar residents.
Meanwhile scores of Palestinian and foreign activists are participating in an open-ended sit-in which started about 111 days ago in solidarity with the local residents and in protest at Israel’s decision to demolish the village.
