The Israeli occupation army on Saturday notified the Palestinian local authorities in western Salfit of its intent to seize 17 dunums of land in the towns of Hares Sarta and Bruqin.
Chief of Hares town Omar Samara said that the Israeli military authority intends to use the seized dunums to build a road connecting the illegal settlement of Barkan with the Trans-Samaria Highway (Road 5).
Samara expressed his belief that the Israeli authority would appropriate more than 17 dunums of land because of the nature of the road adding that the size of lands seized for such projects in the West Bank are always different from the numbers declared.
