A state of tension continues to prevail in al-Aqsa Mosque in light of the Israeli attempts to impose a spatial and temporal division on al-Aqsa Mosque.
Palestinians consider the Israeli Judaization plan to divide al-Aqsa ‘provocative’ and described the sanctity of their holy site as ‘a red line’ that no one can cross.
Speaking to the PIC reporter the writer and political analyst Rasem Obeidat said that the Israeli ongoing violations in the holy shrine came as a prelude to impose a spatial and temporal division on the compound.
Israel has already started promoting al-Aqsa as “Temple Mount” in a failed attempt to change the status quo by force he pointed out.
Allowing Jewish settlers to perform their Talmudic prayers and biblical rituals at al-Aqsa represents the first step to implement the Israeli Judaization project he added stressing: “The al-Aqsa Mosque is solely the property of Muslims and no one else has any right to it.”
Obeidat also pointed out that the Israeli decision to prevent animal sacrifices inside the Mosque came following the Palestinian strong steadfastness and resistance in face of the Judaization plans.
The Palestinian worshipers’ strong will and steadfastness pushed the occupation to step backwards he further said.
For his part the expert on Jerusalem affairs Dr. Abdullah Maarouf said that the ongoing events in al-Aqsa confirm Israeli attempts to change the status quo at the holy site.
Palestinians can never accept the Israeli spatial and temporal division of al-Aqsa Mosque he added warning of the serious implications of such a move.
The occupation must stay away from al-Aqsa Mosque and not even think of changing its status quo he stressed.
He also warned that tension will further escalate over the next period in light of the escalated incitement by the extremist Jewish groups against al-Aqsa.
