The Israeli authorities at dawn Monday demolished a Palestinian-owned house in the Arab City of Tira in the central district of Israel (the 1948 occupied lands) at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
The house belonged to a local resident called Islam Kashua and was razed to the ground with no prior notice according to relatives of the homeowner.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli police forces cordoned off the neighborhood where the demolition took place and prevented any citizen from approaching the area as bulldozers were knocking down the house.
For decades Israel has pursued a policy of forced eviction and demolition of homes of Palestinians living under occupation in Palestinian areas and the homes of Arabs in Israel.
In recent years the scale of the destruction carried out against Palestinian property in Israel and the Palestinian areas of the West Bank and Jerusalem has reached an unprecedented level.
