The Israeli authorities demolished on Monday Palestinian commercial stores in the Old City of al-Ramla in 1948 occupied Palestine.
According to local sources these stores were demolished as a prelude to setting up telecommunication lines and paving a nearby road as part of a systematic Israeli plan aimed at tightening the noose around the local residents.
Ibrahim Badwiya one of the owners said that Israeli bulldozers demolished three stores in the Old City in order to enable an Israeli telecom company to set up lines in the area adding that the stores had been built 35 years ago.
Consequently the storeowners incurred considerable financial losses as the Israeli authorities did not give them any time or chance to remove the merchandise and contents from their stores.
