The Israeli municipality in Occupied Jerusalem ordered on Wednesday the closure of Addar Mall in Salah al-Deen Street over public safety claims.
According to eye-witnesses an Israeli police patrol and municipal crews stormed the commercial compound at daybreak and posted a Hebrew-speaking order ruling for shutting down the mall which comprises over 100 shops and offices.
The owners decided to take legal steps to appeal the Israeli order saying the building underwent maintenance works some seven years ago before it was launched in 2017.
The owners said that they received all the required permits from the municipality.
Local sources said the closure comes in response to socio-cultural activities recently held in the complex.
