OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Two bulldozers heavily escorted by Israeli policemen and border police on Tuesday demolished a Palestinian home in occupied Jerusalem at the usual pretext of lack of permit.
Emad Al-Mu’kat the landlord said that the bulldozers knocked down the building that housed three apartments in two hours after the Israeli police force sealed off the entire suburb located in the Mount of Olives overlooking the holy Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.
He said that the demolition was without prior notice and added that he asked for a permit to build those apartments for him and his brothers for several years but the Israeli occupation authorities always put hurdles before them.
Emad affirmed that the land is owned by his family over 500 years ago adding that they spent 150000 dollars on the construction which was at its latest stages.
The Israeli soldiers beat up the old man Sa’eed Al-Mu’kat and his wife when they tried to approach the demolition site to reach their home which is located beside those apartments.
Ayman Sa’eed’s son was severely beaten when he tried to defend his father Emad said adding that Ayman was hospitalized after the assault.
The IOA has flattened 45 Palestinian home since the start of this year at the same pretext of lack of permit which never sees the light if the applicant is a Palestinian.
