Israeli bulldozers at dawn Sunday demolished a Palestinian-owned wedding venue in the Arab city of Tira in the central district of Israel (1948 Occupied Palestine) at the pretext of unlicensed construction.
According to local sources Israeli forces from the police and special units stormed the city and cordoned off the area where the wedding venue was located before bulldozers embarked on tearing down the building.
Such measure provoked dozens of local youths to clash with the forces and block one of the roads leading to the venue. Many protesters suffered from their exposure to tear gas fumes.
As is the case in the West Bank and Jerusalem Palestinian houses and structures in the Arab cities and towns in Israel are a frequent target for demolition as the Israeli authorities make it very difficult for its Arab citizens to obtain building permits.
