Israel’s Magistrate’s Court in Haifa turned down on Tuesday appeals to release Raed Salah the head of the Islamic Movement in 1948 Occupied Palestine.
Last week the Israeli court adjourned a hearing set following appeals by Salah’s attorneys to reconsider his detention.
The court judge listened to Salah’s defense attorneys who called for releasing him even on conditions of house arrest.
The defense panel spoke out against the preplanned reluctance upheld by the Israeli prosecution so as to extend Salah’s remand and defer legal procedures for an indefinite time span.
Sheikh Salah was arrested by the Israeli police in mid-August 2017 at his home in Umm al-Fahm city. His indictment list included 12 charges mostly anti-occupation incitement.
