Palestinian Prisoners Center for Studies said on Friday that an Israeli court extended the administrative detention of the Hamas leader in Tubas city Nader Sawafta. The extension was made for another four months for the third time in a row without indictment or trial.
The spokeswoman of the Center Amina al-Tawil elaborated that Sawafta 45 was arrested after Israeli forces broke into and violently searched his house on November 15 2016. Then he was held under administrative detention for 6 months which was extended for three times now.
Sawafta a candidate in the cancelled municipal election spent over 15 years in Israeli jails and was detained more than once in Palestinian Authority jails.
Captive Sawafta is currently detained in Negev desert jail and has been denied the right of family visitation for alleged security reasons Tawil pointed out.
