Israel’s Ofer military court on Wednesday decided to extend the detention of 21-year-old Mohammed Taqatqa who is suffering from kidney failure for eight days to “complete the investigation procedures”.
The Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission said that Taqatqa who is being held at Ramle prison’s clinic suffers from serious kidney failure and needs dialysis three times a week.
Taqatqa could not attend Wednesday’s trial in which the court’s decision to extend his detention was made due to his health condition.
Israeli occupation forces about a week ago arrested Taqatqa in Beit Fajjar in Bethlehem after assaulting him with their fists and rifle butts while knowing that he has a serious health problem in his kidneys.
