Israeli court hands down prison terms to nine Jerusalemites

The Israeli district court in Occupied Jerusalem has sentenced nine Jerusalemite citizens to different prison terms and extended the detention of others.

According to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center the seven detainees received different prison terms ranging between two to 42 months.

Straight prison sentences were handed down to seven of the detainees. They are Hatem Jaradat 42 months Majd Mustafa 28 months Majd al-Waari 28 months Nouruddin Obeid 20 months Amjad al-Waari 28 months Anwer Obeid 20 months and Adem Mahmoud 20 months. The last two were indicted for violating a court order banishing them from Jerusalem.

Another two young detainees identified as Nadim Zahra and Fayez Muhaisen received four-month prison sentences suspended for two years.

The same court extended the detention of a Jerusalemite young man from Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood until September 19 2021. He was kidnaped from his home by police forces on August 10.

It also extended the detention of a Jerusalemite young man called Nour ash-Shalabi until today (September 13) and another one called Omar ash-Shalludi until next Sunday.
