AL-KHALIL (PIC)– The Israeli military court in Ofer on Tuesday sentenced a 12-year-old Palestinian boy to one week imprisonment term along with 125 dollars fine local sources said.
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) had detained the boy Uday Akhalil from Al-Khalil district about two months ago on charges of throwing stones and released him on bail until date of the hearing into his case!
Meanwhile IOF troops on Tuesday demolished a pond used for irrigating Palestinian land and destroyed irrigation equipment east of Al-Khalil city.
Eyewitnesses told the PIC that big numbers of border police escorted Israeli workers who damaged irrigation pipes and agricultural equipment.
They noted that a five-year-old boy Talal Jaber suffered breathing difficulty during the operation as the soldiers threw teargas and sound bombs at the citizens who tried to defend their land.
In another development IOF troops detained four Palestinian citizens in the West Bank districts of Bethlehem and Al-Khalil at dawn Tuesday Hebrew daily Yediot Ahronot reported.
In the Gaza Strip elements of the armed wing of the popular resistance committees confronted an IOF advance east of Rafah to the south of the Gaza Strip on Monday night and fired a number of mortar rounds at them. The IOF troops opened indiscriminate fire at nearby residential quarters and damaged crops in the area.
