Israeli court rejects appeal over Abu Shukhaydam’s home

Monday 31-January-2022

The Israeli high court of justice rejected on Sunday another appeal filed by human rights group HaMoked against the intended demolition of martyr Fadi Abu Shukhaydam’s house in Shuafat refugee camp east of Jerusalem.

According to the Hebrew website 0404 the same court rejected earlier this month a similar petition submitted on behalf of the family of Abu Shukhaydam.

A court verdict which was issued on January 19 said that the house could be demolished as of January 30.

A spokesman for the Israeli occupation army said that the army intends to raze the house as soon as possible.

On November 21 Abu Shukhaydam opened fire at settlers and officers in the alleyways of the Old City killing one and injuring four others two of them seriously. Police officers returned fire and killed him on the scene.

The Israeli occupation authority systematically demolishes homes of Palestinians whose relatives are accused of carrying out deadly shooting operations.
