The Israeli Salem military court on Sunday sentenced the Palestinian media student Asem Mustafa al-Shanar from Nablus province to eight months in jail.
Speaking with PIC al-Shanar’s family said the Israeli court sentenced their relative to an eight-month prison term a fine of up to 2000 shekels and an 18-month suspended term.
According to the family the verdict was read out following exhaustive deliberations at the court hearing.
The detainee was kidnapped by the Israeli occupation forces some five months earlier. His brother Montasser was arrested shortly after and held in administrative detention with neither charge nor trial.
