Israeli occupation forces on Sunday evening arrested a Palestinian merchant at Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing north of the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Crossings and Borders Authority told Quds Press that the Israeli forces arrested Adel Husein a Palestinian merchant from Gaza at Beit Hanoun crossing after interrogating him.
Since the beginning of 2019 Israeli forces have arrested and interrogated dozens of Palestinian merchants patients and patients’ companions while they were leaving the Gaza Strip through Beit Hanoun crossing.
Israeli occupation authorities allow less than 4% of the Gaza Strip population to travel through Beit Hanoun crossing after the approval of the Israel Intelligence Service is obtained mostly patients students foreigners workers in foreign institutions businessmen and traders.
The Gaza Strip has been under crippling Israeli blockade for 13 years. All crossings connecting the enclave with the outside world through Egypt or the 1948 occupied territories are closed most of the time and they are only opened partially for the entry of goods and people.
