Israeli forces brutalized Palestinian prisoners during raids on cells in Ofer jail at dawn Tuesday.
According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs heavily armed forces from the Israeli prison service with dogs broke into sections 15 and 16 of Ofer jail and ransacked their cells.
During the raids which started at dawn and continued until 10 o’clock in the morning these forces embarked on harassing and maltreating prisoners and wreaked havoc on their beds and personal belongings in the cells.
Israeli jailers usually take punitive measures against prisoners following such raids on sections but there was no information from the Commission of Detainees in this regard
Since six prisoners five of them from Islamic Jihad escaped through a tunnel from the high-security jail of Gilboa in September 2021 Palestinian prisoners in all jails have been exposed to suppression and punishment almost on a daily basis.
