Israeli prison forces stormed on Wednesday several sections of Ofer prison conducted thorough searches sprayed prisoners in sections 21 and 22 with gas and closed all sections.
The Palestinians Prisoners Club said that the Israeli prison service is escalating the raids on prisoners’ cells which form part of the systematic policies it implements against prisoners.
Such raids threaten the spread of the virus infection from jailers to prisoners as a result of direct contact between them during the raids it added.
During the past year 2020 Ofer prison had been subjected to the most violent raids carried out by the Israeli jailers inside prisons the most violent of which was in September after the death of the prisoner Dawood Al-Khatib.
More than 800 Palestinian prisoners are held in Ofer prison including children.
