Israeli prison forces on Monday stormed several cells in the jails of Ofer and Ramon maltreated Palestinian prisoners isolated one of them and transferred four others to different detention facilities.
According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) Israeli forces violently raided cells in section 14 of the Ofer jail and hauled one prisoner to an isolation cell.
PPS did not state the identity of the isolated prisoner or say if he was a hunger striker.
Consequently the Ofer prisoners decided to close all the sections in protest at the arbitrary Israeli measure.
Meanwhile Israeli forces brutalized four hunger-striking prisoners in the Ramon jail and transferred them to other detention facilities.
The four detainees who have been on hunger strike for 12 days are Mahmoud al-Fasfous Guevara an-Nammoura Ra’fat ad-Darawish and Kayed al-Fasfous. They were transferred to solitary confinement in the prisons of Beersheba Ashkelon Ohli Kedar and Ramla respectively.
10 other Palestinian prisoners have also been on open-ended hunger strike for several days in protest at their detention administratively with no indictments or trials.
Most of the administrative detainees nearly 540 Palestinians are ex-detainees who already spent years in Israeli jails.
Administrative detention is incarceration without trial or charge and is widely used by Israel against the Palestinians solely at the pretext that a person plans to commit a future offense. It has no time limit and it is based on alleged secret files.
