The Israeli police on Wednesday evening decided to close the main road leading to Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and to other Palestinian towns in Occupied Jerusalem.
An Israeli police statement made it clear that police troops border crops and volunteers will be deployed across Sheikh Jarrah as of Wednesday evening until Thursday evening so as to prevent Palestinian citizens and vehicles from passing through the area.
Other thoroughfares including Nablus Street Othman Ibn Affan Street and Khaled Ibn al-Walid will also be closed off.
Earlier in the day the Israeli occupation forces blocked Palestinians’ access out of al-Tur crossroads citing anti-occupation stone-throwing as the reason for the arbitrary movement ban.
The occupation forces have permanently targeted Palestinian civilians schoolchildren and students in Jerusalem’s town of al-Tur.
